Foamo

By ~ Yooth Brigade ~

I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that by the end of 08 Foamo will be a household name in dance music. Through his amazing production talent, Foamo is already being recognized by some of the best in the biz. His original track "Everything Cool" is said to have been included in sets by Crookers, The Bloody Beetroots, Drop the Lime, Boy 8-Bit and several more. While we only have some low quality samplers of his work, all his stuff is available on Beatport, DJDownload, JunoDownload, and Stompy. Hot fiyuh!

X-Files + UNKLE

By Calyjomoosemoose

For those of you who don't know, London's UNKLE recently did a remix of the X-Files theme for this summer's "The X-Files: I Want to Believe". Don't take this remix too seriously, I definitely would not consider this some of UNKLE's best work and the cut might even inspire some hearty lols, but it's interesting nonetheless!

tapedeck

By Calyjomoosemoose

tapedeck is my new obsession. The duo is from London and shares the beautifully bouncy sound that you would hear from acts like A1 Bassline or STDJs that is becoming an emerging trend primarily from London. tapedeck takes this wobbly sound and meshes it perfectly with their brisk drums on each and every track they produce. tapedeck has released several remixes on their label Meal Deal Records, which boasts a very impressive lineup of artists. Be sure to check every one of these tracks, not one of them will dissappoint. Also, be sure to show tapedeck and Meal Deal some support by buying some music!

Klaxons - Atlantis to Interzone (Ayia Napa to Interzone tapedeck Remix)

Late of the Pier - The Bears Are Coming (tapedeck Remix)

Secret Handshake - Summer of '98 (tapedeck Remix)

SemiFinalist - Odd Situation (tapedeck Remix)

Kate Nash - Caroline's A Victim (tapedeck Revised Remix)

Seriously, snatch all of these remixes.<3

HPD + Mephisto Odyssey = BUMP!

By Jeanz.

Hot Pink Delorean has been busy. Playing countless shows, and never taking too long before they dish out another hot rmx. This time rmxing and being featured on the "Bump EP" by SanFran's ultra-diverse Mephisto Odyssey. If you havn't gotten a chance to chk these guys out, hit up their myspace right away. The sound is hot. With collabs from NYC's DJ Polywog as well as fat verses spit by Z-Man and vox from DJ Toure of Hieroglyphics!

This is a really diverse rmx, and about a minute in, the bass drops and things really get knockin'. Keep and eye out for this EP, out next month and also featuring a rmx from Fantastadon, and of course, show our boys Hot Pink Delorean some myspace love!

MESSINIAN + DESIGNER DRUGS

By ~ Yooth Brigade ~
Designer Drugs has always been one of those acts that blows me away with every original or remix that they release. They manage to always pump out a high energy track dripping in their own sound. Their latest remix of Dieselboy's MC Messinian's "Throw it Away" is no exception.
The track is covered in the typical Designer Drugs "build ups and breakdowns" yet shares some experimental-ish sounds. Love it!

By Jeanz.

When i first got my hands on Digitalism's "Pogoism" album, i sat and listened to it about 5 times; mesmerized. I can definitely say the same about their new "Tabloid Mix", the first of many, released under the infamous electro record label Kitsuné Maison.

Tiger Islands!

By Jeanz.

i love 8-bit. and what i love it more is when Tiger Islands and recent YB headliner Talk to Animals team up for a great rmx!

Tiger Islands' sound reminds me of those awesome nintendo days with way too much time and way too much redbull. He's 21 and currently residing in Grand Rapids, MI. He started playing guitar at first, then acquired some old synths and a KORG drum machine from a friend, and those two things basically planted the seeds of what is now known as Tiger Islands.

Word has it that he is looking for another member to join the band, preferably a lady...so what do you say? Any foxes wanna team up with a tiger?? Then find Tiger Islands on myspace and show him some love!!

The tracks:
Talk to Animals' 8-bit anthem "Computerism" ('nuff said). Then comes another great 8-bit rendering of hardcore Spark is a Diamond's "Deathwish". And lastly is a fucking sweet glitchy rmx of Nine Inch Nails' "The Great destroyer."

IRΞZ + Chewy Chocolate Cookies!!

By Jeanz.

Vince Fierro aka IRΞZ has been planning his electro-take-over for some time now. Whilst his friends played marbles in the hot South-Cali streets, he plotted and planned to become a name as big of that as his heroes Daft Punk and The Crystal Method.

The take-over has begun and his tracks prove it. First off is a great rmx of the Paris/France electro group Chewy Chocolate Cookies that will get you dancing and keep you dancing. Second is an original track, "Lauging Man" that reminds me of the love-child of an oldschool miami breakbeats track and a funky dark-disko club track.

Be sure to give IRΞZ some myspace love!

While I'm on the subject, let me mention that Paris/France' Chewy Chocolate Cookies has recently put out their Petites EP and let me also mention that it is fucking sweet. however, don't try to eat it. i did, didn't turn out well.I'm leaving you with some great CCC tracks. First off is Cheeseburger, a beefy banger, which gives some awesome visuals: "I see cheesburger everywhere. They are flying over me. They are saying EAT ME EAT ME EAT ME!" Reminds me of when my first week as a vegetarian....

Next is a fucking rad remix of Portugal's Loto. This is a rmx that needs to be on every hard drive.

Lastly is a great rmx of the you-already-know-about-it track Justice "Genesis".

All The Babes Love...

By Jeanz.

All the babes love Overthrill and to be completely honest with ya, I do too! As soon as I started hearing that chopped up disco explosion shit (like Ed Banger hero Sebastian) I was hooked.

So needless to say I was giddy as an effin school girl when I came across Germany's Overthrill. Making jacked up disco tracks and seducing babes, these fellows are living everyone's dream and their popularity is rising, with a recent Mix for Brooklyn's No Love Lost Records.

I leave you with some great tracks. First off is a rippin banger of a rmx for Uffie-esque Alabama girl-rckr a girl and a gun.

Next up is another helluvabanger for ultra badass Buffet Libre and his brand new '80s project "REWIND" with a remix for 70s/80s discelectro The Gap Band and their track Burn Rubber On Me (see fkn radass 80s video below).

And lastly I leave you with the Overthrill original banger that started it all, Revolver.

Tragic Magic Records

By Calyjomoosemoose

Tragic Magic Records is the new project headed by well known producers Trevor Loveys, Affie Yusuf, and Chris Belsey. They are influenced by the "people who make good music half of the time" and sound like "a seagull getting a good shafting". Word. The first release is July 7th and will be distributed by Music Response London. Expect some huge relases from these guys as they have not disappointed in the past. Tragic Magic sent over a minimix sampler of what's to come, and it sounds promising. Dance.
